Adaptive
Golf

Modified golf programming using the VertaCat and ParaGolfer adaptive carts for all ability levels, including open play, clinics, and competitive events among the red rocks of Southern Utah.

Program Overview

Golf Is for
Every Ability.

Adaptive Golf is one of SUAS's signature programs, built on a simple belief: the game of golf should be accessible to anyone who wants to play it, regardless of physical ability. Using specialized adaptive golf carts, we've opened the fairways to players who never thought golf was possible for them.

Our program features two state-of-the-art adaptive golf carts: the VertaCat and the ParaGolfer. Both devices allow players with spinal cord injuries, lower limb disabilities, balance impairments, and other physical conditions to position themselves for a full, powerful golf swing without needing to stand independently. Each cart has its own strengths, and our team will match you to the right one based on your needs and goals.

Whether you're picking up a club for the first time or returning to a game you loved before an injury, our program meets you exactly where you are. No experience required. No barriers to entry.

Who Can Play

Spinal Cord Injuries
Individuals with complete or incomplete spinal cord injuries at any level. Both the VertaCat and ParaGolfer provide the stability and positioning needed for a full swing.
Limb Differences
Amputees and individuals with limb differences at any level, upper or lower extremity, can participate with adaptive equipment and technique modifications.
Balance & Mobility
Those with balance impairments, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and other mobility conditions are welcome at all sessions.
Veterans
We proudly serve veterans with service-related injuries or disabilities. Golf has proven to be one of the most powerful therapeutic sports for veteran rehabilitation and community building.
All Ages
From youth to seniors, if you want to play, we want to help you play. Our program is designed to be inclusive across all age groups and ability levels.
No Experience Needed
Never touched a golf club? That's perfectly fine. Our instructors and volunteers will guide you through everything from grip to swing at your own pace.
